We have a little creek that runs behind the house. In the summer, it dwindles to a trickle and you barely know it's back there. I like to look at it in the winter because it seldom freezes over and so I get a few different birds back there. I used to see coyotes back there too, but I haven't seen them in a couple of years. Anyway, the bottom photo shows the little stream as it looks when it is full from rain. The top area shows where it has flooded over its banks and comes almost up to the tree line on the house. It has started to recede, but the whole area is still flooded.
